After hours of waiting

After many hours of waiting and watching the NFL draft on tv. Mark Setterstrom was finally picked near the end of the 7th round by the St. Louis Rams. He has potential to play, but we will have to wait and see what happens. If he plays some I may have to go out and buy a jersey, even though it is the rams. Well I hope he does a good job in St. Louis. Well other than the long wait for him to be drafted the day has been a big bust, with nothing going on and me being pretty much miserable due to the weather and me just being lonely. Oh well like that does not happen every week. I will probably be going to bed early tonight and getting up early tomorrow, which could make me very tired for my test in history. Well it appears that I might have run out of stuff to say!!!
Oh my!
well thats all for now, might not post again until tomorrow.

Another day

Well It is another day. I am up early once again. I will probably sleep a little more later, but who knows. My sleep has been messed up recently. The howling wind doesnt help much while I am trying to sleep. So today I need to fill out these applications for jobs here in Eau Claire. Then there is some homework and studying that I need to do for tomorrow, and I have a feeling I will be going to bed early again, but that could change who knows. The second day of the NFL draft is today which will be a bit of entertainment, but not as much as yesterday. The Vikings did get a late second round QB which makes me happy. And the guy seems to have a lot of potential, he just seems to have trouble getting into an offense. With the help of brad johnsons I am sure he will be great. I have been noticing that the recent bad weather has been affecting my mood, but sometimes it just doesn't. I guess it it just something to toss up to the unknown. Well at least Mash the movie is on right now so I can be a little thankful. Well right now I am off to bed again, wish me luck.
A good song for my mood is: Behind Blue Eyes----The Who
Never EVER listen to the Limp Bizkit cover. It does not do the original justice.
so long for now.

Raindrops

Well as the gloomy afternoon turns into a gloomy evening I have returned to post once again. Well there have been some surprises that have occurred in the NFL draft, but nothing that amazing. The vikings have been drafting to fill their needs, somewhat at least. I think they will need to take a QB in the third round with their 2 picks. They need to get someone young who can sit behind Brad Johnson and learn from him. Other than that I think that they are doing a good job of bolstering their defense, I think that there is also a need for the vikings to get a steady running back, but that might already have been taken care of with picking up Chester Taylor in the offseason. Well because I really have nothing else to do for the remainer of the night, I might as well continue watching this draft, maybe take a nap to go along with it. I am sure I will have another post to sum up the rest of the draft. Although one thing that needs to be said is that the Titans have great potential in this draft with two big offensive powers.
The song for my mood is: Sit Down, Stand Up----Radiohead
This song goes really well with the weather that we have been having, kind of meloncholy and depressing but also a little upbeat.
Check back later for more.

Draft Time

Well on a gloomy day with 80% chance of rain I am looking forward to watching the NFL draft. I will probably play some poker along with the draft to just entertain myself even more, because the draft is a little slow in the beginning. Mario Williams has been picked as the first overall pick, and this pick will most definitely be a very unpopular one for the next year. I think that these people don't understand that the Texans needed defense much more than offense. Their offense is not bad by any means and they already have a young running back with much potential. I am thinking that the vikings will either take Deangelo Williams the running back from Memphis, who plays a lot like reggie bush but just did not have the great supporting cast. Or there is also a chance of the vikings taking Lawrence Maroney who went to the university of Minnesota and keep him in town. If Deangelo Williams is picked before they are up then I woud agree with the pick og Maroney, but if Williams is still there, they should certainly pick him because he is more than just a running back he is also a great receiver. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. Where will Reggie Bush end up? I have no idea at this point. This is just my intro post I am sure that there will be at least one more post about the draft. I think that Vince Young will be the best QB out of this draft. And if he goes to the Titans he can learn under one of the greatest quarterbacks of his type. I am looking forward to seeing where Mark Setterstrom will go, and their have been some very optomistic words said about him including that he could possibly be a starter at the beginning of the year. The two teams that are interested in a guard of his type are the the Colts and the Broncos. I guess I will have to wait and see.

Last post today.........I promise

Well I have been hanging out, I watched Animal House with my friend John and his girlfriend Sarah, and I have been thinking about the secne where the mayor's daughter tells Larry that she is only 13. Is that supposed to be her joking around? She has a grin on her face when she says it, but by the way he responds it makes me think that she was serious. Oh well just another thing that I may never know the true answer to. So after watching Animal House, I have retired to my room where I have been watching NBA payoffs. I just saw the highlights of the Cavs-Wizards game. And Lebron is just amazing! He won that game for them. Without him that team has nothing. I think he can carry them deep into the playoffs. Now I am watching the Lakers-Suns game and I have just been thinking how weird it must be for Bill Walton to announce his own son's NBA game. He has been calling him Luke Walton over and over and knowing that it is his son just makes it sound so weird. Maybe it is just me but I think it is probably very hard for him to announce his son's games because he would not wnat to be over critical but also not too soft on him. I mean earlier in this game Luke had a flagrant foul that i missed and I am just wondering what Bill had said about this and how upset he got.
Well there is one song that is stuck in my head right now. Well it is not really a song but rahter more of a jingle. If anyone remembers the NBA on NBC theme jingle I have been humming that to myself over and over. Yes it is a weird hting to do I Know, but oh well I am weird.
Animal House was the perfect movie for my mood and it was just so entertaining as always, it also makes me want to watch the modernized movies of that sort like Van Wilder and Old School right now but I will save those for another time.
Thats all for tonight.
I hope everyone enjoyed my posts.

3 times in one day? Wow I must be a machine

Well I am back again for some more bloggage. Well this weekend definately has potential to be a great weekend, but they all do. I am very excited about the NFL draft that is happening all day tomorrow. Being the sports fanatic that I am I will at least be watching the first few rounds on television. I am excited to see who the vikings will pick to improve their team and also excited to see if Mark Setterstrom will be drafted, for those who do not know he went to the same high school as me and graduated the same year as my older brother. I know this is kind of a lame connection but I will settle for it. Other than the draft there is a possibility of going garage saling which could of course be loads of fun. I could use some second hand junk. I guess we will have to wait to see what I will find. I am sure there will be lots of movie watching along with random tv. Right now I am watching a replay of this past year's national championship game, a game which I loved watching live and also am enjoying watching as a replay. I will spend the rest of my time chilling around the floor playfully known as the ocho. Oh Man! I can not believe that Reggie Bush tried to pitch that ball. How could he try that so far downfield.what a aste that drive was. Oh well he was the Heisman trophy winner and also is probably going to be the first overall pck in the draft. Who am I to question him?
well right now my mood is all football
A good song would be:
Are you Ready for Some Football----Hank Williams jr.
And a good movie would be Little Giants.
I have not seen that movie in a few years but now I really want to.
Thats all for now.
Check back later for more.

movies

Well I have been thinking about how many movies I have seen and decided that I would discuss the movies that i have seen and which of the top rated movies made that I havent seen. Of the top 250 rated movies on IMDB I have seen 144 of them. It doesnt really seem like that many i guess. if you take out the foreign films on the list of movies i havent seen there are only 76 movies. I am now going to make it my mission to see the remainder of these films. Another random fact is that of the 100 top grossing films in the United states I have seen all but 5: Polar express, tootsie, The Perfect Storm, What Women Want and Madagascar. I haven't seen these movies because I either had no interest in them or they are older than me (the case with Tootsie). I kind of think of myself as a movie buff I guess you could say, but I have learned lots of my knowledge. I know this Post is probably not that interesting to those of you who keep reading. I just thought I could brag about the amount of time that i have spent watching random movies. Although to be fair I learn as much about movies from watching the Simpsons, Family Guy and also Seinfeld. Plus the random other shows like the critic are really good at helping me notice random movie parodies. Parody movies themselves help you realize how much you know about classic movies, or about the current movie scene.
Stay Tuned For Another Post Later when I will discuss my thoughts for the upcoming weekend,
I know you will!

I Can't Get to Sleep.......

Well the title might be a little misleading, but it is a quote from the beginning of a song. I will get to the song later because it is my song for my current mood. Well lets start with what got my here at this time today. I woke up at about 3:30 and just could not fall back asleep. So I got up and went to my computer as I usually do in such cases. So I looked on my AIM buddy list and noticed that one of my friends was not away or idle. I sent him message it turns out he was drunk at 3:30am sitting in his room. What a great thing to learn. I thought I would be able to calm my nerves by playing a few games of pyramids, a card game on yahoogames that i am completely and hopelessly addicted to. So i played that for a while and noticed that it was now about 4:15 and noticed that I was still tired. I went back to be and tried to sleep some more to no avail. I was hopelessly awake. So I finally stopped tring to sleep at about 6:45 after a few hours of rolling around in bed while my thoughts ran amok. Many random thoughts were going through my head, which I am sure will eventually get included in my blog sooner or later. One major thought that i was having is about how the girl in the new movie R.V. looks exactly like Lindsay Lohan did about 2 years ago. In the commercials i could swear that it was Lindsay Lohan in that movie, but then i went and looked it up on my favorite website, imdb, and it wasnt her. And what is even scarrier is that this girl is only 15 years old and looks like that. This is starting to freak me out. Oh well there is one of the many thoughts that i had this past night. Another thought that I had was about how ironic it is that Flava Flav who sang a song with public enemy about how there is too much junk on tv, now will be known primarily for the junk television that he is personally making. I am sure that the other thoughts will come out sooner or later, but those are the two main thoughts that I was having thoughout the night. So when I got up at about 6:45am i took a shower and then went for some breakfast to wake myself up with. My very nutritious breakfast consister of two bran muffins, a glass of chocolate skim milk and my favorite morning drink mountain dew. It woke me up quite a bit because not I am sitting in a computer lab on lower campus writing this blog. Well my outlook for today is good except for the fact that there is a good chance of thunderstorms. I wore shorts and a tshirt despite the fact that I knew there was a very good chance of rain today. I guess i might as well be confortable if it is going to rain on me. I guess the good part of me waking up early is that i will most likely be able to finish the homework that i had been recently neglecting. I should get to that homework soon, but im sure there is a little bit more of my brain that i can pour onto this page. I am sure that sometime later today I will be posting my plans and hopes for this weekend whic some i have already thought about. I guess I will be wrapping this up with my song for my mood. Although i should probably say that I will only be posting 1 movie each day because i will run out of those much faster than songs. My song for my mood is:
Overkill----Colin Haye
This song was played repeatedly during an episode of the tv show scrubs. And the first line starts the same was as my title does. It fits my mood perfectly for this moment, or at least for earlier when i could not get to sleep. And for those who do not already know this, Colin Haye was in the band Men at Work who sang the song I Come From a Land Downunder. Now you know!

Another 2-for day

Well I guess I just have a lot of stuff to share with my dedicated readers. I have a real question for everyone out there, when the weather gets warm like it is now and the girls start to show off their bodies, do they not want us to look when their clothing leaves nothing to the imagination? I mean sure staring is going overboard, but its like they are trying to get guys to look and then bust them for looking. Kind of a crazy thought i know. It is just something that i wanted to get input on. I spent the past hour or so writing german papers that i had been falling behind on so my mind is a little lacking at the moment but I am sure I will think of plenty of stuff to include in thie entry. It is not even 10pm and I am already very tired, there has got to be something wrong with me health-wise. I guess it isn't a bad thing that i am finally sleeping a lot after years of getting 5 hours of sleep each night. Maybe my wild life has finally caught up with me. Although for anyone who might be reading this that doesn't actually know me very well I don't actually live a very wild life. I am still trying to find soemthing to do this weekend, but who knows. I will probably end up not doing anyhitng constuctive which is fine with me because i love being lazy. I guess i should get to bed now at the late hour of 10pm!
I am thinking the song for my current happy mood is:
Life is a Carnival----the Band
A good movie for my mood would be Dazed and Confused, because i am just waiting or the school year to get out. I want to be able to relax even more than i currently do, i guess.

Beautiful Day

Well it is just a beautiful day outside. I love the weather. Lets see what have i done today. I actually went to my film class and watching Thelma and Louise, which was not a bad movie. It was a good change from the normal classic westerns that we had been watching in that class. It is a perfect day to just cut all of my ties to the world and run away to Mexico, although i have nothing to really run away from at this time. Maybe it is just a good day to go for a drive. After class i went across the bridge looking for places to work that would be near the house next year. I got a few more applications. Lets see how these things will turn out. Ive always got some optomism in me even if it doesnt show. If anyone has any good leads of places i could work in Eau Claire that would be easy to get to from where i will be living that would be great help. I get to relax this afternoon and watch tv, or at least not do anyhting constructive. I am not sure what i will do but it should be fun. I guess I will have to do some homework tonight so i will not have to do it all in between classes tomorrow, but who knows how productive i will be tonight. I will probably just go to bed really early tonight like i have been doing lately, early for me is before midnight. Well I should wrap this up because i have to go and pick up my meds that keep me oh so mellow. Thank you for medical science. Without prozac i probably would not be here. That brings me to another thought, I think that i should be an emo kid, but for some reason im not. Maybe i am just a freak in that way, oh well it is not really important, but just a thought. I will just have to relax and watch the history channel so i can learn more pointless information.
To wrap it up i think i will be doing a more of a song of the mood rather than a song of the day, because i have a feeling i will be posting a lot.
There are a couple of songs that would go well with my mood right now:
Beautiful Day----U2
What a Wonderful World----Louis Armstrong

Tonight

Well I just got back from seeing the movie Thank You for Smoking. It was very well made and very entertaining. There were quite a few stars in it. The story line was good and the movie was just all around hillarious. I am thinking about reading the book that it was based on. This movie is definitely worth seeing. It is the funniest movie i have seen so far this year even though that doesn't say very much, because i havent really seen many comedies this year.
I am not sure how often i am going to be posting on here, but i think it will be at least once a day. I guess i just have a lot to share. Although I am not sure how many people will actually be reading this blog. Feel free to leave me some feedback if anyone is reading this.
Song of the Day: Tonight, Tonight--The Smashing Pumpkins
Movie of the Day: Thank You for Smoking

Day 1

Well this is my first blog post, not really sure what I should put here. Well in recent days I have been extremely tired despite the fact that I have been sleeping well. It makes me think that I could have contracted some sort of illness. Oh well, I am not going to worry about that.
The weather recently has been making it very hard for me to pay attention in my classes. At the End of each post I will be including a song of the day and a movie of the day, both of which will be selected to go with my mood for that moment in time. I won't be doing that for this first post but i will in the future. Well I think it is time to partake in my favorite pasttime, which is napping.
Thanks for reading,
Peter Weck
