Blog Post #90? Wow has it been that many?

I guess its easy to get to this many blog posts when its been over the course of like 4 or 5 years on and off. Anyway, I just thought I would give everyone and update.

Everything has been going very well as of late. I have been really exercising more and also eating much better. I have been eating a ton of salad, probably too much even. I have been feeling good all around as well.

I recently submitted an application to become a contributor to the website nerdist.com I really didnt do that good of a job on my application. I wish I had done more writing. I also wish I would have been funnier in the thing I wrote. I kinda did it in the moment and I now wish I could go back and rewrite it. Its not like I would have gotten paid anything, but I really like the idea of writing for a bigger audience. I have on idea how I would do. I am ok with the possibility of failing at least then I would know that I tried. The more I think about it the less funny I seem in written form, and I am sure that I think I am funnier than I actually am in person too haha, but I can live with that. I know that I can make people laugh in person and I love being able to do that.

In other news work has been going well at both jobs. Tomorrow I will be representing the Small Business Development Center at the Women's Business Conference in Eau Claire. Thats right it will be me surrounded by about 100 30-50 year old women! That sounds like a party to me!

I would also like to say thank you to Spencer Miller. I talked a lot with him at Joel and Kim's wedding. I am going to try to use some of his advice. I know its kind of cliche but I am going to try to stop looking for a significant other. This is definitely a hard thing to do when my brain seems hardwired to work the other way. As much as I would love to have someone to hang out with and do all sorts of activities with this summer, I really am going to try to work on me more. It will take lots of hard work, but I would love to be able to drop even a small amount of weight this summer. The more I work out the better I feel and also the easier it becomes for me to work out again. I like the cycle I am on right now. I guess if someone crosses my path I would not push them away, but at the same time I will not be actively seeking a significant other.

I have been getting really into Doctor Who lately. It is a British Scifi show that has seasons available on Netflix for those who are interested. This is the newer incarnation of it not the original. I actually started watching it because Chris Hardwick who runs Nerdist.com had mentioned it several times on his podcasts as well in on twitter. I am really glad that I found it. The show definitely fits my sense of humor as well as my enjoyment of Scifi. It has a very campy feels to it which I assume is intended. I would recommend checking it out if you have a chance. I am getting close to the end of season 2.

I guess the other news since my last post has been the start of the baseball season. The Twins have a great record this far. They have played ok, but not amazingly yet they have had several games just gifted to them. The Twins starters need to be better and more consistent. The bullpen has done and amazing job, of course with the exception of tonight. The batters need to be better at hitting with runners in scoring position and with the bases loaded. Both of those stats are what made the Twins a good team last year. I have confidence that they will be able to pick up the batting with runners on, but the pitchers have to do a better job for this hot streak to continue.

My brother Mike and I went to see Kick-ass at a special showing 10PM the day before it was actually released. I really liked this movie. I would warn anyone who is not ok with the idea of a 12 year old girl killing many people and swearing should stay away from this movie. I take movies as movies. It did not offend me, in fact I think her character is the best in the entire film. I know that Roger Ebert called the movie morally reprehensible or something along those lines. I really was not offended at all, I can understand where he is coming from, but its not reality. It is not like this was a documentary about how a girl murdered all of these people in real life. Its a movie that was based on a graphic novel. I had heard reviews that it was like The Dark Knight with jokes. I would not quite put it on par with The Dark Knight. I really enjoyed just about the whole movie, Clark Duke was of course great in his scenes, I love that guy. I definitely think it is worth seeing for anyone who is not going to be offended by the violence or the swearing parts of it. I think some of the swearing got some of the biggest laughs because it is so unexpected. If you would rather see Chloe Grace Moretz in another role you can see her as Joseph Gordon Levitt's little sister in (500) Days of Summer which I really enjoyed when it came out.

I want to just bring up a random thought I just had, I guess it is more of a memory from high school. I remember in one of my English classes we were given the definition of irony as: that which is not expected. That is not irony. I really think that true irony cant not be defined. Random I know, but hey I can do that sometimes too.

I am watching America the Story of Us on the History Channel as I write this and I am really enjoying it. I guess I should really wrap this up as I must be up early in the morning.

Thank you for stopping by and delving into my thoughts.

Good Night
Peter
