school is quickly approaching

School is coming up on us here at UWEC. We have less than a week before our classes start, and I can't wait for them. I need to have something to take up all of my time during the day other than my thoughts that will only lead to worse depression. I have only had a few bad days during the summer in regard to my depression. The only bad days were during rainy or gloomy days. And I just didnt feel like doing anything at all during those days, but because I have a job I needed to get out and go to work. In fact I think it was the single biggest help with my depression this summer, other than the medication. Well I didnt really wnat to talk aobut my mood that much, but its a little late for that it would appear. I have been feeling lonely all summer, but you know what im used to that by now. I am not sure I would know what to do if I was not lonely. Although I would like to find out. Thats just a random thought to include in here but oh well, people probably already knew that. Oh well I have gone this far, if you don't want to read about my loneliness you should just stop reading now. I am just tired of feeling so alone. I just wish i could find someone to be with. I just want to know what it is like. For those who do not know I have never had a girlfriend and have only been out on a few dates. I have had a few girls who seemed like they were interested, but then suddenly they just stopped responding to me all together. I guess im just too damn repulsize for these girls, maybe its cuz im ugly or at least not very attractive. I just wnat to know if I am doomed to be alone. If I am then I want some sort of signal. I will just give up with girls all together. It is not like I am a hard person to get along with. I guess I just havent found the right girl, but its not like its easy for me to approach girls. If there is one thing that i get nervous doing its tlaking to girls. I know its something that I should have gotten over years ago, I just am always fearing that i am going to say something completely wrong. Well I am done with my rant about my loneliness.
I have not really been doing all that much lately. After tomorrow all of my roommates will be moved in so it will be cool. It will be interesting to see how everything works out. I got my books yesterday, only one of which I had to buy, but they weigh a ton! Oh well I can handle it. Like I said before I woud really like to hve school start so I can get my mind on to other things.
After giving my friends's band a review on my last post one of the band members left me a response which was cool. I hope he liked the review. I love listening to that cd.
For those who have not read my blog that much, because only recently it was added to the note on facebook, I usually include some music and some sort of viewing material that I recommend or dont recommend each day.
Music of the Day: Modern Times----Bob Dylan, I read a review of this album before it came out in Rolling Stone. They were giving it such praise, I really did not think that I could like it as much as I like his older music. I don't quite have th fondness for it like I do for his older stuff, but I do really like it. I just have not listened to it all that much. It is a little bit different of a sound that his classic, but i still like it. Its more blues and jazz than you think of when you hear Bob Dylan, but it is worth listening to even if youre not that big of a Bob Dylan fan.
Movie of the day: Super Troopers. I do not think that I know a single person who has not seen this movie, and with the exception of one person I do not know anyone who did not enjoy it. I will keep the person's identity hidden for his or her safety. I enjoy this movie and am looking forward to seeing Beerfest, although I need to find someone who wants to go see it. Pretty much all of my friends went to it last night when I was at work even though I tried to get them to go some other time. So if you wnat to go see it, let me know.
Thats all for tonight.

Opinions

Well I have just had a few things come into my head. I have some pet peaves that I was to get off of my chest. At work there are some people that just hate the world. They spend their whole night making fun of people, but when someone makes one small joke about them its the end of the world. I guess its the very fragile psyche within the people that I work with won't allow them to take a single joke. I take all the jokes in the world, but I also love to give them out to others. Its all in a fun spirit. There are just a few people that are no fun to work with because they cannot handle a joke at all. Another things is how some of the workers hate others for no real reason. When ever the person goea away for a second to clean something or return something, they jump all over them its so retarded. I am sorry for using the term retarded, but it is the only way to describe it.
I guess that is waht happens when u deal with people who are still in high school.
Another little thing that I did not really like lately, is a commercial that I saw on tv. The commercial was for the new Hummer H3. They were bragging that they made one that got 20 miles per gallon. That is not a great thing to brag about. We are running out of fossil fuels and they are bragging that they have made a hummer that gets a whole whopping 20 miles per gallon. I drive a shitty van that gets more than that. 20 miles per gallon should just not be something that you brag about. If you can make a luxury automobile that gets 40 miles per gallon then thats an accomplishment, but 20 is no special number.
Movie of the day: Cinderella Man, of all of the great movies that Russell Crowe has been in this might very well be my favorite. It is also one of the great movies that got passed over last year. It came out very early in the Oscar cycle so I think people just forgot about it. It is worth seeing if you love underdog sports stories. The movie really helps to put you into the depression with the family of James J. Braddock.
CD of the Night: Veto----The Plagiarists, I know just about no one has heard of thses guys, and one of the only reasons that I have is because I was friends with them back in high school. They have been touring around to random places in the upper midwest lately. They have a very cool sound. It is sort of a light synth rock, unlike anyhitng else. Somewhat like Radiohead, but not that similar. If you want to check them out let me know I have the cd.
Thats all for tonight.

More random stuff

Well I had typed this beforeand I had to restart before I finished typing my post. These past few weeks I have become more and more nocturnal. I work late and then come home and stay up practically all night. I need to right my sleep schedule before school starts. Well I might just have to stay up all night tonight in order to correct my sleep schedule. I have been watching a lot of the Little League World Series lately. It has been on a lot, but thats not the only reason. My brothers and I used to watch it all the time so it kind of brings back some memories. I love watching baseball. And I think that this is the purest form of baseball. Kids playing for the glory of winning, not the glory of the big bucks. It is also fun to see the international side of the game. I am glad to see that Team USA basketball can actually win games. I like the fact that Coach K was the one chosen to coach them. He is someone that they all definitely respect and will listen to. He is teaching a team game not just individual play like they all love in the NBA. They actually might win just for the sake of winning. Not for the millions of dollars they usually play for. Wow it seems like im taking a big dig into pro athletes in this post. Well in other sports news, the twins are hanging around and are only half a game back of the White Sox for the American League Wild Card. I think the twins really have a great shot at winning this, because they have just been so hot this whole second half of the season, and also because they are playing well against the white sox. It will all play out in the last 5 weeks of the season.
The weather today was just terrible. It rained all evening, and it poured when i needed to go in to work. The store was pretty dead for most of the night. It was a boring night and when I got back all of my roommates were already sleeping. How boring tonight was. From what im told my friend ross finally got what he was putting his mind to. I dont really want to get too graphic with this.
Time to close this message.
Movie of the day: Snakes on a Plane. I saw this movie because i thought it would be so bad it was funny, not because I thought it would be good. It was so bad it was funny. Lots of very funny moments, but it wasnt even that good of a bad movie. I would not reccommend paying to see this movie, it just really isnt worth it. I know my brother will be very dissapointed by my review. If you want some crazy stupid laughter then you should see this movie, but I cannot really give this movie my endorsement.
Song of the Day: Hotel california----The Eagles, this is definitely my favorite Eagles song. I am not really a big eagles fan. I love joe walsh the guitarist, but thats about it. I dont really like Don Henley's voice. I guess I am just weird like that.
Well have a nice day everyone.

No news is good news

I was up all night playing live and online poker. It was a good time, I had success online although not so much with my friend lemon. The stakes online were much higher so that was good. I went to perkins at 6 am with Lemon cuz we were both still awake and hungry. It was delicious as usual and then I came home and slept like a baby.
I actually did stuff today, stuff that was constructive. I cleaned my room. I got all of the garbage out of there and made my bed. I folded all of my many excessive blankets. I moved some stuff around and now it doesnt look like as much of a sty which is good. It feels so good to have a clean room, I doubt it will last for long though. I had some fun errands to run so its nice to have a car. I went to the bank and deposited my checks. Then Lemon and I went to best buy, I was going there to buy the Simpsons season 8 but we looked around to see if there were any good deals. Didnt really find anything to buy. Then we went grocery shopping cuz neither of us had any food. When after we checked out we realized that we were off from the same total by 5 cents which is really weird. It is especilly weird because we didnt buy that much stuff the same as each other and it was over 50 bucks but still so close. I came home and unpacked my groceries and got to have some food. I have been watching the simpsons all night. Season 8 is amazing. I have been playing poker and having more success which is great.
Well I dont have all that much to say tonight just telling epople about my day or days i guess.
Song of the Day: The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down----The Band, I love the Band. I am guess most of the people havent heard of them because they arent actually that popular of classic rock. They just don't get played that much on the radio. Everyone chould check them out. You can listen to The Last Waltz which was their last concert. They have a ton of famous guests on the multi cd set. I wish more people would know of the band. I am sure they have heard some of their music.
Viewing Material of the Day: Simpsons Season 8 this is definitely the best season put onto dvd so far. Worth watching for everyone. It is jam packed with good episodes. Almost every single one is a really good one.
Ask me to borrow it if you wnat to.
Well thats all for now. Catch you later.

Possibly controversial......

Well to sum it up I have been playing a lot of horse lately on and offline. Its not the kind that you would think like with basketball. I made two bucks playing in a free tournament online which was nice and fun. I dont really want to talk about poker in this entry, I have at least one big though that I would like to get into this entry. I was up very early this morning(still up) Mike and Mike in the morning came on on ESPN2 and Mike Greenberg was talking about how Nolan Ryan although being elected to the baseball hall of fame with the highest percentage of votes ever was not one of the top 10 pitchers to ever pitch. He was comparing this to how people were going to see Brett Favre when it was his turn to be voted into the hall of fame. Ryan was most definitely amazing to watch, throwing 100 mph. And he pitched 7 no hitters in his carreer. Something that I dont think anyone is even close to. He has the most strikeouts of all time, but he played 27 seasons in the majors, something that is very rare. He has the most strieouts, but he was only 32 games above .500 for his career. It is a lot like Brett Favre's career. Sure Favre won a superbowl, and he is approaching many records for quarterbacks statwise. Favre however has not had any injuries, well i should not say any injuries, any amazingly bad injuries. Favre is the Cal Ripken Jr. of football. He has played so many games in a row that the stats are bound to stack up. Sure Cal Ripken had 3000 hits, but if youre going to be in the lineup for that many games in a row you had better be able to hit. I am not saying favre is a bad QB, he isn't by any means. I am just saying he isnt one of the best of all time. He is good at what he does, but he never had the Marino like numbers year to year. He is consistent, but his team never had as much success as Joe Montana's. He is good in the clutch, but he isnt as good as John Elway. He will probably be voted into the hall of fame with flying colors, but he is just not that in the top 5 or so of all time. People do love him though. He is fun to watch even though I am a Viking fan. There are millions of people who think Favre is fun to watch. He is going to throw the ball as hard as he can to get it to where it needs to go.
Well enough of that, I want to proclaim my love for a show called cheap seats. Bad sports video with comedy is a great combination. With the Sklar brothers it is a show that I watch whenever it is on. They need to be in more stuff.
Movie of the day: Anchorman, enough said everyone has seen anchorman.
Song of the Day: Joker---- Steve Miller Band, I love this song I am surprised I had not used it before, I think everyone likes this song.
Peace!

finally!

Well it won’t let me log in to my blog page, so I am writing this in Microsoft Word with the intention of posting it if that bug gets fixed. If not then I will have to start a new one so who knows what will happen. Well I have not written in probably a week, I had wanted to, but I never really just sat down and wrote it so that got in the way of getting it written. Ok so lets see what has happened in the past week. I have been working a lot, mostly at night so I’m usually awake really late. I requested to have last Friday-Monday off so I could go home and visit my family, but I was given a shift from 6-midnight on Friday, but luckily I was able to find someone to work for me. I spent the weekend at home which was nice and relaxing, I didn’t really do all the much. Well that’s not true I did some stuff. I went to the Twins game on Saturday night it was a pretty rough game. The blue jays crushed the twins; they just could not get anything going. That was the story of the whole weekend for the twins. On Sunday I went to see a movie with my friend Miles. We went to see Talladega Nights, I will talk about it later. Other than those things I hung around the house and just relaxed and rehabilitated my back. My back feels much better maybe not quite 100% but it still feels much better. So we get to Monday, I had to get up early (still at home in Minnesota) because I had a dentist appointment. I swear that the Dental hygienist was ripping my gums apart; I am surprised I did not scream out in pain. After that I watched some scrubs while I waited for my brother to come home and bring me back to Eau Claire. We had a nice trip; it was quick with a lack of traffic, which is pretty much what I consider to be a nice trip. We stopped by my work so I could check my schedule. It turned out they had scheduled me for that day eve though had requested off. This is the only complaint that I have about that place, but still had I come back later that evening I could very well have been fired. I guess it was my fault for not calling in and finding out when my next shift was. I walked home from work on Monday because I could not find a ride, but it was soothing, and not to mention that I can use a little exercise. I did the same thing tonight intentionally, because I really need to take some initiative and get some exercise, it is so much nicer to walk home while having some music to listen to. I was watching ESPN just now and say that Chad Greenway is out for the season, well that is really a bust for the Vikings, he was the first round pick and will not get to see one down of play in the regular season. Well I am running out of thoughts now, I think I will be trying to post more often that I had been, because school will be starting up soon. With school I will have more on my mind to share.

Movie of the night: Talladega Nights: the Ballad of Ricky Bobby, this movie was funny. I think everyone goes into that movie expecting that because it’s Will Ferrell and what movie has he been in lately that was not just hilarious? The movie does not really have all that much plot, but I don’t think I would expect it to have that much anyway. Not really a must see, but if you want to laugh go and see it. I would give it a 2.5 out of 5. Roger Ebert on the other hand gave it a 3.5 out of 4, which I think is outrageous. The movie does not really accomplish anything, oh well he is a guy that gets paid to review movies and I’m just a guy does it for fun.

Song of the Night: Imagine----John Lennon, this has got to be one of my favorite songs of all time. For those who don’t know this song is about communism, real communism, not the kind that is practiced in a few countries. It talks about everything in the world being equal for everyone, and how that would really solve all of the problems. When I did report on Bob Dylan in High school I found out that this was one of his personal favorites which is a cool fact.

Thats all for now, I am outta here.

Comfortably Numb

Well last night when tying to go to bed I started feeling a terrible pain in my lower back.
I spent pretty much the whole night trying to find a comfortable position and really got no sleep at all. Well I will get into the later, last night i played halo for the first time in a long time with a group o friends and roommates, although the roommates are also friends so i guess I did not need to specify that. It was fun, the teams we were playing were pretty even, I was the worst along with Ryan although he played better than I did. I would probably play it again cuz it was fun, but only if there was going to be someone else who was bad that was playing. Well i stopped writing for about an hour there. I was busy eating my first meal o the day. Might also be the last meal for today, I have a lot of sleep to catch up on. I have been playing some magic online since I got up against my friend miles from home. I read the live updates from the world series of poker and Alan Cunningham is still alive and I guess I would have to pick him to be my favorite player left, alhough he is in the middle of the pack with 27 players left. He is a fun player to watch, kind of quiet but fun nonetheless. I am not in as much time as i was before, but i am not completely without pain, it is just a lot less sharp and much easier to handle. I am probably going to be able to sleep all night too which would not be too bad. I guess i really dont have all that much to say today. I got some medication for my back so I have been in and out of sleepiness all day. I really have not done anyhitng today and I will probably just go back to sleep when I am done writing this.
Its time to wrap this up.
Song of the Day: Comfortably Numb----Pink Floyd, it goes well with the sedated state that I am in. Its also just a good song that I enjoy listening to.
I cant really think of a movie today, sorry loyal readers, maybe next time.
Have a good one.

A Day In the Life......

Well I have been having fun lately. Not doing anyhting specific, just with everything. The weather has been wonderful lately. I have been gettin a good amount of sleep every night with the exception of tonight. I have to go to work at 6am. I guess i will be tired all day although that is not much different than normal. I got a nice 7 hour shift that I dont have to give up much of the day for. I will most likely come home and take a nap following it, but that i fine with me, I will be awake at a decent hour and will be free to do soemthing. I have been watching a lot of poker on tv lately as well as reading the live updates of the main event. I thnk the horrible issues with steroids in sorts are getting out of hand. THe technology to cheat is getting way too advanced as well. Whatever happened to honesty and honor in sports. I dont think that babe ruth would have ever thought about cheating in baseball, although he was a great player without the drugs. Im not going to take steroids in order to make mself better at sports, I think it is sort of an honor thing for me at least. I am not good at sports, but i still enjoy playing them. Watching them is getting less fun because of all of the issues with steroids. This is the only place that I even have anyhting that resembles a soap box to stand on and take a stand. I think the big problem now is that when kids see the athletes are doing these thngs then they might think that is something that is ok to do in the future, I sure hope that professional sports are not completely ruined for everyone over the next few years. I love sports and am not really sure what I would do without them. I guess that is really all that I have to say about this topic, but i think it will probably become more of an issue in the very near future. I dont want to see a great thing ruined for millions of people.
It is much too late for me.
Song of the Day: A day in the Life----The Beatles
Movie of the Day: Clerks, this is an old Kevin Smith movie, in fact I think it was his first, but do not quote me on that. It is funny and original, it is all about what the title says it is. It pretty much follows the lives of two store clerks through their day.
peace out
Its sleepy time.

another weird story

Well late last night when i was bored and flipping stations to try to find something to watch I ran across a world's strongest man competition on ESPN Classic. It reminded me of the fact that an aquaintance of mine from high school had a father who had actually competed in the worlds strongest man competition. I had seen an episode of the world's strongest man, which is just kinda a cool thing to see. I searched for his name on google and found a really cool interview with him. It said that he has a family with great athletic history. His father was an allpro guard for the packers for many years, he won superbowl 1 and 2 with them and also was able to make the probowl an amazing 7 times, yet he is not in the hall of fame which is something that is a little sad. From those number I would think that that would be more than enough to get elected to the hall of fame. His brothers were both also big weightlifters and are all the best team in the state of minnesota and are also one of the top teams in the entire US. Which is really cool. It is awesome to have someone from your hometown that is one of the top weightlifters in the country. And from looking at his son you would never have guessed that his father was a strong man competitor. The kid was almost a complete stereotype of a nerd. He was skinny with glasses and no real muscle on him at all.
That was my new interesting story.

Finally some Relief

Well finally the weather has cooled down. It rained most of the day yesterday, and now it is just beautiful out. It is not even humid jst nice and cool with a breeze. I actually had to use a blanket lest night because I got too cold and that made me happy. I have been reading the live updates from the World Series of Poker Main Event. It has been relaxing just to be able to sit here without overheating. I am nice and relaxed, it could not be any better. I like the fact that there is an hour of Drew Carey Show on tv every day, I usually try to watch it. Then there is also an hour of 8 nsimple rules for dating my teenage daughter on after that. They have finally gone through the whole series and are back to the beginning where john Ritter is actually in it. It is nice to find some enjoyable daytime tv. I have been playing a little more online poker but once again am having no luck, I think this will be the last I will be playing of it for a while now. I am going to call it quits and just play some live games. I am kind of excited to go home weekend after this upcoming one. I just wnat to be around my family again, although this might be like the last time that we would all be together for quite a while. We are all going to be moving to different places. I guess it will be good to see everyone one last time before we disburse.
Well I really dont ahve all the much to say today.
Song of the Day: Desperado----Johnny Cash, I like this cover of the song more than the Eagles version. Its just the sound of his deep voice that makes the song really work for him.
Movie of the Day: V for Vendetta, this movie has been my movie of the day before, but now that it is out on dvd I need to advertise it again.
So long for now.
