Another day of fun

I should give a rundown of the past few days since I last posted. On Sunday I watched some soccer as usual and then I went to work. After work I was hoping that we would have the gallon challenge afterwards, but that did not happen. We had a nice bonfire over at a friend's house which was a ton of fun, although there were times that it got really hot. We reminisced about things that we and our friends had done. I came home and went to bed following that. I had some success in a few poker tournements and was almost able to double my stack online which was good. It is fun to finally have some success. I watched some tv including more soccer on monday before going to work. I worked a late shift which was not bad. It hardly ever is because it is pretty slow during that time. I came home and played some more poker. I was also able to get some damn good prices on groceries. I spent less than 15 bucks and was able to buy stuff that will last for a long time. Today I watched the soccer games that were on. I was dissapointed in spain and how they were unable to beat the struggling french. Although France turned it on towards the end of the game. I also went out to lunch ith my female friend Brooke. I am not sure if I ever mentioned her name before. We went out and had sushi which I love. We also had some more fun conversation. That is one of the amazing things about her I can have a never ending conversation about nothing in particular. For those of you that know my well know that I am not that good at holding up a conversation in person or online, but when it comes to her there arent even any slow pauses. I just have so much fun sitting there talking to her. I hope she enjoys my company as much as I enjoy hers. Well I had fun at work following all of this. I closed at work so I did not get home until after midnight. I decided to play in a poker tournament after I finish writing this entry so I am eager to wrap this up. I have become addicted to watching Sanford and Son. It is a hillarious show. If you have not seen it you should check it out some time.
Movie of the Day: Pirates of the Carribean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, this movie is a great pirate movie. Unrivaled in modern movies. I cannot wait to see the sequel. I loved this movie and if you have not seen it yet then you should go out and rent it tomorrow.
Song of the Day: White Room----Cream I may have used this song before, but if I have just let me say that I love pretty much any music involving Eric Clapton, he may be my favorite guitarist of all time and is definitely one of the best of all time.
Thats all for tonight.

it was a nice night

I have been having a fun few days, as usual. I worked Tuesday-Friday. I got today off which I used to relax and enjoy the day with my roommates. I watched the world cup games that were on and Germany has looked great in the last few games. Although Sweden had trouble scoring throughout the entire tournament. Germany was able to control the action through the entire game. There weren't even very many chances for the Swedes. Argentina and Mexico played a close game that was won on the best goal i have seen in a long time. Well I treated my house to a quarter barrel of beer for all of the help that they have been in getting me to work. everything has been going well. I did not think that the night as going to be that great because most people had not yet showed up at that time, but when people actually started showing up it was a great time, I enjoyed it and I think everyone there enjoyed it too. My friend Ross and I won 7 games of beer pong in a row, although he did all of the drinking so I guess he had a little too much beer from that. He also wanted to be mentioned in my blog again so here you go Ross! Well it was a good ngiht until john got into the PDA with his girlfriend so I kind of got discouraged when that happened and I know I was not the only one. I wish my female friend could have been here for the party to get to know my friends, but she had other plans for the weekend so she was out of town. I just miss hanging out with her because it is so much fun. Well I work tomorrow, but I am also hoping to watch some of the world cup games that are on and maybe try the gallon challenge, but I am not sure if that will be happening.
Movie of the Day: Cool Runnings, this movie was one tv this evening and I have been watching it. It brings back memories from my childhood. It also makes me wish that John Candy was still alive. I love so many of his movies. He was taken too early.
Song of the Day: Baba O'reilly----The Who, this is a great song. Some people might know it as Teenage Wasteland, but this is the actual title of the song. Well It is starting to get late so maybe I should rap this up.
Thats all for tonight.

Another Day Another Dollar

Well it has been another few days since I last wrote on here. Nothing too amazing has been happening. I worked today, but did not yesterday. I have been watching more soccer. I got to watch the first half of the England-Sweden game after I had dozed in and out of the Germany game that had been one in the morning. I look forward to watching some of the games that are on tomorrow. There should be some entertaining action. I am watching some more Sanford and Son which is very entertaining. I like that they show lots of episodes in a row so that people like me can get to know the show pretty well. I worked for 5 hours today. I was a good day with not too much work that I actually had to do. I realized that I am much better at small talk with girls at work that I am with the guys, I guess that is because the girls actually have stuff to say and talk about where as guys do not most of the time. I need to get a preferred member card at the place that i work so that i can get som good discounts on the food that I buy. The more discounts that I can get there happier I will be. And I can even get money back from buying stuff. It is a pretty sweet deal for only ten bucks. I can also get discounts on gas and movie tickets at select places in Eau Claire which are things that I am sure I will be buying sooner or later.
Movie of the Day: Field of Dreams, a classic movie about a man's love for baseball and the spirits that want him to share his love for baseball with other people. They help him by puting on a show for them. This movie is probably my favorite Kevin Costner movie.
Song of the Day: Centerfield----John Fogerty, a good song that I am sure that most people have heard in their lives at one point or another. Goes well with the movie of the day and also with my love for baseball.

All Work and No Play Makes Peter a Dull Boy

Well I have been working a lot lately, which is something that I am definitely ok with, but mixed in with the heat I do not really have that much energy to do toher things when i get home. This is especially the case when I walk the 3+ miles home from work. Today I worked from 6am until noon which was just horrible. I thought I was going to fall asleep. I had to put up with a cashier who was being really bitchy to me for no reason. It was her last day there so why would you not be a little bit happy? I didn't have to put up with her the whole day which was good. I also got to work with some cashiers who are actually fun to talk to. So it was not that bad of a day I guess, although it could have been worse. I have been relaxing and watching tv for the rest of the day since then. Yesterday I worked and had to miss most of the good soccer action that I had really wanted to see. I guess the US game was just wild and crazy with lots of questonable calls and cards. I get tomorrow off so that I can really relax and try to find a way to beat this god forsaken heat. I get to wait for the sbc dsl guy to come and try to fix the internet again. It just keeps lagging out every 10 minutes or so which is really aggrevating. I just wnat it to be ok so I can play poker online again. As I am writing this I am watching Sanford and Son which is a classic show that I have never really seen, it is on tv a lot. Well it is about time to wrap this up because I am running out of things to say.
Movie of the Day: The Shining, this movie is a suspense classic. It is also kind of a tribute to my title for this post. Or maybe that is the other way around. I dont really know. Worth seeing for anyone who loves suspense.
Song of the Day: Bulls on Parade----Rage against the Machine, this is one o my favorite songs by Rage. I usually listen to rage when I have extra energy and/or anger. Well that is all for tonight.

Its been a few days

Well it has been a few days since my last post. I have been working a lot and also have been watching a lot of tv. Now that we successfully have cable installed, I have many more distractions so that I do not find myself pining or a certain person which would not be a good thing, and somehting that I really do not want to be doing. I guess that is hard sometimes though. I'm glad that I have something else to do with my time finally. I have been watching about as much soccer as is possible. Pretty much trying to get all 3 games in each day. I have been enjoying them greatly. Even the games that are between two teams that are not that amazing. I have also been watching lots of shows that are somewhat educational on the history channel and discovery channel. I have also been watching a bit of the food network which is a channel that I love because I sort of have a yearning to cook. Although at this point in time that most likely will not be happening. Well I really do not have all that much to say. I have to get up in the morning and work an 8 hour shift. I would much prefer to be working 8 hours in the evening, but I am not sure if that will ever be happening.
Movie of the day: Dodgeball, another funny movie about a rarely played sport and a story about even the underdog can win sometimes. Worth seeing for anyone.
Song of the day: Good Vibrations----Beach Boys, I grew up listening to the beach boys among many other bands, but this is just a song that I love and I think many other people love it too.

A Day full of soccer

Well despite the fact that I have no tv stations available in my house I was able to watch a few of the world cup games that were played today. I was able to watch them with my friend Matt Lemon. We watched the us get crushed by the czechs who were my preliminary picks to win the world cup, and they looked great today. And then we watched Italy take care of Ghana. It was a good time being around someone who actually understood soccer fairly well, unlike most of the americans. After watching the games I walked ome in the perfect weather. It was just great out. I relaxed and read my book for a while which was good because I feel the need to read over the summer so I don't lose my ability to read fairly quick. I chatted online a little and did my laundry but it was pretty much a boring evening and night. I relaxed on the porch a bit which is usually entertaining, but tonight it seemed boring. I need to find something to do with my time! I thought i had at least one friend who would be willing to hang out a lot, but i guess I did something to scare her away. Well if anyone who reads this would like to hang out let me know, I am bored during the day a lot and also at night. Well I do not have that much to tell tonight. Nothing too much happened today.
Movie of the Day: Baseketball an hillarious movie about a made up sport by the creators of south park. There is a lot of low brow humor, but I still love watching the movie every time.
Song of the Day: Ring of Fire----Johnny Cash, it is probably my favorite song of his. Lots of people probably have that same opinion, but I love how Johnny Cash's voice sounds.
Thats all for tonight, tomorrow we get cable installed.

A Nice Weekend

Well it was a nice weekend with the family. I went to Appleton, WI for my older brother's college graduation. We watched some soccer games from the World Cup. We got to have some random food at the different sort of gatherings for his graduation. I guess that this was the first college graduation that my father had been to. He has gone through all of college and even further. He has a PhD annd has never even gone to one of his own college graduations. Well the weekend was fun. We went out to eat at a Thai place on saturday night which was very good. It is hard to screw up noodle dishes so I think that most of the people we were with enjoyed it as well. We went back to the campus and showed m mom arund because she had never gotten a full tour of it. We showed her the organic garden that my older brother had helped create. We went to a big party that was being thrown in the rec center that they had on campus. The music was bad. The band claimed to be the #1 soul band in Chicago and if that was the case then Chicago must have one god awful soul scene. There were a bunch of random food stuffs that were good. My brother and I got to have our own room away from our nagging mom. We watched a bunch of stuff on tv and then went to sleep although I was unable to sleep well in the bed that I had. We woke up in the morning in order to watch a soccer game on tv. That was fun then we went to the commencement. The ceremony was ok. A few of the speakers were entertaining. One of them was a documentary filmmaker that had won an emmy that had gone to Lawrence university some years back. She made some liberal political statements that I think were mostly preaching to the choir because of the liberal nature of the school. the student speaker had lots of good jokes so she was fun to listen to. My older brother graduated with honors which will be very hard to live up to. The ceremony took nearly 3 hours hich was way too long for me. We went and saw some of my brother's friends and then it was about time for my dad and I to leave so I could get home at a decent time. We got back and I was able to check my schedule at work and I was able to get more than 30 hours which is good. I am excited about the world cup games that are coming up but also kind of saddened because we do not yet have cable in this house. I am glad that my friend Lemon wants to watch the USA game tomorrow at 11AM. I got back and heard about all of my roommates' weekends which seemed like fun. John was here frm St. Paul for his aniversary with his girl friend. It was good to see him for a little bit. Well I should wrap this up.
Movie of the Day: Waiting, a great comedy about being a waitor but anting more out of life and then going to try to live your dreams. It is very funny and worth seeing. It was not that widely screened in theaters, but it was still funny.
Song of the Day: Run Around----Blues Traveler, they have a great musical sound that is just a bit country mixed with rock and lots of good rhythm especially in this song, worth listening to.
That is all for tonight.

A boring day

Well it was a very boring day that turned into a boring night. I had been hoping about hanging out with my female friend tonight, but I guess she had something else to do. Oh well. I have been thinking about her all day after last night. I just wish I could spend more time with her. I am such a whiner, although I guess it is my blog so I can say whatever I want. I guess it is just a doomed crush. I really wish i didn't have a crush on her so I would be able to be happy with any amount of time that she wants to spend with me. I guess I just want what i know that I cant have. I guess I just wish I could have some signal that was definitive in one way or another. I just want to be able to know if there is really a chance or not. If not I'm going to just take it easy and stop bugging her. I just enjoy being around her and I hope that she feels that same way as I do. I just want to be able to stop worrying about it so much and let it all happen. Not that I dont want to have input on it, I certainly want that, but I just want to be able to not worry about it. Each time I am around her it just gets worse and worse. I guess im just kind of pathetic. Oh well. I think that is about enough complaining on my part. I am just tired of being so lonely. And I guess that I wish that she would be the one that could end my loneliness, but who am I kidding? Who falls in love with their first boyfriend/girlfriend? Being around her just makes me happy. I just want to be around her all the time. Well I think I should wrap up the depressing blog. Today was just such a rainy and gloomy day that it really made me wish that I had someone to be with.
Song of the Day: Pinball Wizard----The Who, I love this song and it really goes along with what I have been doing a lot lately. I have been playing a lot of windows pinball to try to take my mind off of other things.
Movie of the day: High Fidelity, I love this movie and really enjoy John Cusack's work in it along with his supporting cast. It is a melodramatic comedy that really speaks to me. Worth seeing.
Thats all for now. I won't be posting again until sunday evening at the earliest.

Another Great Day

Well it was another good day. I spent most of the day just hanging out and watching Futurama. I talked on the phone with my female friend who I have been mentioning. After talking to her I relaxed some more because I had to work from 6 until midnight. I enjoyed work a lot and had fun talking to all of the people that I was working with. Most of the people that I work with are girls either just out of high school or still in high school which is a little weird. It is still enjoyable. After work I went and hung out with my female friend. we watched a movie. It was the perfect weather outside to walk, so I walked there and back. It is impossible for there to be any better weather than that. There was a even a nice little breeze. We watched the Jerk a good movie, but I will talk about that later. It is weird how a girl that I dont even know that amazingly well can drive me so crazy. She is just so fantastic. Well I have already been talking about her too much in recent days so I will try to keep it to a minimum. I just hope to be able to be around her a lot this summer. We watched the movie i her bed. She fell asleep a bit before the movie left. Even though her bed was very comfortabe I just would not have felt right sleeping in her bed. Now I am back at home writing this.
Movie of the Day: The Jerk, one of the movies that made Steve Martin a star. He is very funny in it with lots of physical humor. It is a movie that is sometimes forgotten. Worth seeing for any Steve Martin fans.
Song of the Day: Caravan----The Band with Van Morisson, the song is from the Last Waltz. I love the Last Waltz, it is one of my favorite albums/concerts of all time. It is the band playing with many famous frineds of theirs. Worth listening to for most people.
Thats all for tonight.

More Work

Well It has been a long day for me, but an enjoyable one as well. I hung out around the hosue a bit before I worked. Work was enjoyable, most of the people around there seem to be very nice and easy to get along with. I walked home from work which was a good 3+ miles walk. It was tiring, but also relaxing. And if you have seen me you will know that I need to get out and do stuff more often. Well I have been thinking that I needed to read some during the summer so I started reading The Trial by Franz Kafka. THe book has been unusual so far, but nothing that was not expected. I also went thought some lists and compiled a list of novels that I should read some time, maybe not this summer, but just sometime so that I will be able to have a much more diverse knowledge of literature. I would just like to read at least one book by some of the more famous authors of all time. I already have gotten some of the longest novels out of the way. I have read Don Quixote and also Moby Dick, which between them are more than 2000 pages. I definitely want to read some of the older science fiction books that I have not read. Well my friend Ross wanted to be mentioned within my blog which is a very strange request, because he is one of a very small number of people who read it. Well sunday when I got back into Eau Claire Ross was participating in the grilling that was going on the backyard. I went out front and was just looking out from our porch the guys were starting to make their way to their cards which were in front of the house. As Ross came to the front our neighbors accidentally let their dog out of the house. the dog started to run down the street and when Ross saw this, he took off full speed after the dog. I am not sure if he just wanted to catch the dog or get in good with out hot female neighbors, but Ross was able to track that dog down and catch it. Good job Ross! Well since the last time I hung out with the girl that I have been mentioning in my blog I cant seem to get her out of my head. I really wish that I could, but it just does not seem to be working too well. I guess I have a big crush on her yay for me! Nothing like having a crush on a girl who most likely will just want to be my friend. I had sort of gotten shot down altogether by her, but I guess I read too much into that and she said it was possible to have a relationship once she really got to know me. So as the crazy person that I am I want to give her as much chance as possible to get to know me as well as she can. Why can't I just be satisfied? Why do I have to wnat more. I have no experience at all with girls as more than friends so why is it that I am really wanting it so bad now? I wish I knew. Well enough about me whining about my big crush. Afterall she may read this. Well another big event that happend was that my brother got fired from his job as RA at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. He got fired because he took an active role in planning the senior streak that is held traditionally at their school. He had been dissapointed ith the number of people that had showed up in the past few years so he decided to email everyone in the graduating class. The dean of residence life caught wind of his activities and said that if he were to participate that he would be fired. He participated and was fired for it. Now at the school there are protests going on and petitions being passed around to get him reinstated, although it is kind of too late. He graduates on Saturday.
Movie of the Day: Orange County, this movie is one of Jack Black's earlier works and he does a great job as a burnout older brother, who would have thought he could pull that off. Well it is funny and very entertaining and worth seing for anyone who reads this.
Song of the Day: Frankenstein----Edgar Winter, this song is defiitely one of my favorites of all time and not that many people have heard it. And if they have they do not know the name of it because there are no words in the song. Worth listening to whoever you may be.
Bye for now.

First day of Work

Well After my first night of sleeping in my new bed I had finally arranged everything in good order. My room has plenty of hang out spece in it. I haven't had that much to do. I finally went and got some groceries. Well yesterday I woke up late and hung out, then a female friend of mine gave me a call and we ended up hanging out all night. It was fun, we talked a lot, we played triviall pursuit, went out for dinner at El Patio a mexican restaurant just about a block away. We watched some Newsradio. I love spending time with her. SHe is fun and entertaining and I like to think that I was funny and somewhat charming, but you know only time will tell. God knows she is very beautiful, at least in my opinion. I hope to be around her a lot during the summer. I know that she will not have that much time to do so hopefully she will wnat to hang out with me. Well she left at about midnight. I pretty much went directly to bed. I slept pretty well during the night. Then I got up and was pretty nervous for work, which kind of was a bad thing. I was afraid that every little thing would go wrong for me today. Once I started getting trained in I started to relax, although my pants that I was wearing did not breathe too well. The work was not too bad at all. I spent a lot of time just standing there in the air conditioing, because there were no customers at the time.
Song of the Day: Free Bird----Lynyrd Skynyrd, this is a song that I like by this band that I like. Many of the songs they play are a little too redneck for me, but there are always some songs that I enjoy. I guess this song is a song that most people enjoy.
Movie of the Day: The Matrix, a good futuristic movie about the world that we will live in if we keep developing computers and machines as fast as we are. I think most of the people who read this have already seen this movie, if not then it is something that needs to be seen. I was not as big of a fan of the subsequent two movies in the trilogy as I was of this one.
Thats all for today.

finally all moved in

Well I am finally completely moved in to eau claire. My room is rockin. I have a ton of places to sit and hang out. I had to move a few things around. I was able to get all of my stuff in to my room. I put all of my stuff away. After moving most of my stuff in. I hung out with my roommates on the porch sitting in the furniture that i had brought, but had waited to move into my room until I had gotten everything else arranged. Well more about the weekend. I was at home for my younger brother's graduation. I attended the graduation service and it was actually very nice. I had only gone to one other commencement, not counting my own. I went to a few graduation parties and enjoyed the prevelance of root beer kegs. I love me some root beer, I guess it makes up for my not drinking. Well I had a variety of foods, but some of the things were ntohing special, the high points were the chocolate fondue and the croissant sandwiches. The meat in the sanwiches was so delicious. It was a good weekend of free food and drinks, I also got to see some of my extended family for a limited amount of time. It was a fun weekend, I got to bond with my brother some which is good because I am going to be away from home for about the rest of the summer. I might not get to see him again for a while. Well I also attended the church service that was held at the church in which I am sort of a member. It is the Unitarian-Universalist church in Northfield, MN. If I had to choose a religion to belong to it would definitely be this one. I am thinking about giving the Eau Claire chapter a try, I just kind of wish i had someone to go with me. Lets get back to Eau Claire. I have been drinking a lot of water which is going to become the base of my life from now on. I guess I got a little sweaty moving my stuff in, but nothing too bad. Well I do not have much else to talk about now. I had a good ride with my father. It has become more and more prevalent that I have gotten much of my personality from him. I put up pictures and a poster that friends had made for me for my birthday. I am currently posting this from internet that is not mine. I turned my computer on and had the ability to access the internet, whcih is always nice.
Movie of the Day: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, I love this movie, and most of the dry british wit that exists in the world. This is definitely a case of a great British comedy from a group of great comedians. I am sure many of the people reading this have seen it. If you have not seen this movie you should make an effort to see it.
Song of the Day: Song 2----Blur, well this song is a song that im sure most people have heard, although they might not know the name or the band. It is a catchy tune that is featured in Starship Troopers. It is short, but catchy. The singer for Blur is now singing with Gorillaz a band that I am sure some people know.
Thats all for today.

First Night in EC was fun!

well I just got back from my short stay in Eau Claire. I had a decent time carrying all of the stuff into the house. I got to organize everyhting and hang with the roomies for just a little bit. The day started to get hotter as it was time for me to go to my job orientation. i got payed to sit in an air conditioned room and listen for a few hours. Easiest money ever. Then it was time to go grocery shopping with my roommates although I did not really get much because I did not want my stuff to go bad. I decided I would get some stuff before I left northfield and just take it with me. Not too much though I dont like to have a lot of food around, if I do then I will probably eat it much sooner than I really needed to. After that trip we all went back and continue our unpacking. It was fun then after a while Tom and I were bored so we decided to watch a movie. I had not brought my movies yer because my TV was still at home. All we had were scott's so we went through and decided to watch the Ladies Man. It was pretty crappy, but still entertaining. After that some friends showed up to help us celebrate the new house. After giving the obligatory tour we sat around and pretty much talked for 4 hours. We told all of our horror stories from college. It was a great time. After not thinking the night was going to be any fun these guys came in and saved the day. Every bit of it was fun. After they left we al went out separate ways. I had to make a bed out of blankets because my new bed was not going to be delivered until the next day. It took a while for me to fall asleep, because the floor was just uncomfortable. Once I fell asleep it was good because I think I only woke up once. After I finally got up for the day, Tom and I went and ordered out telephone and internet service, although they will not be hooked up until the 7th or 8th. Then tom played some Doom 3 while I watched him. The movers with my bed got their very early so I decided that I would just leave once then got it put in place. The moving only took about 10 minutes. I had intended to swing by my job to find out when I work, but that did not happen. I just forgot. I will have to call in ad find out when I work. Well that is all for now. I am going to go and enjoy the festivities of graduation.
Song of the Day: Burning Down the House----the Talking Heads.
